WELCOME - BIENVENDA
Welcome to all of you gathered here today. We come together to walk with our sister and brother migrants, today’s Mary and Joseph, who search for a Posada, a refuge, a place where they will be welcomed, where their human dignity will be honored and respected, where God’s peace and God’s justice will reign.
We stand in solidarity with men, women and children deported from the United States, who are separated from their families and loved ones, from their jobs, from the life they have known.
We stand with migrants who have been humiliated, discriminated against, abused and exploited.
We stand with migrants who have been kidnapped, tortured, assaulted and killed, both on the journey and here on the border.
We prepare ourselves to celebrate this Posada as a call for justice and peace on the border, and to make this dream; God’s dream for us a reality.
